Another view from above NYC

Over the past year and a half I've been flying in and out of New York much more often, so I am able to get some views from above the city. I always pick a window seat and get my camera out for a few minutes as we fly over the many skyscrapers and famous landmarks of Manhattan. By now I know just the right seat to pick and the what side to pick it on.

Leave a comment and I will tell you which side, haha!

My 200th post!

For my 200th post I've decided to show some recent random snapshots from throughout the city. It's been too cold to take many pictures—as many pictures as usual—but every now and then throughout the past week the gloves came off and my fingers braved the cold for a few attempts at getting a unique and/or special NYC photograph : )

Gold top

A few Saturday's ago it rained and nearly snowed in the city (before the blizzard hit). Some would say it actually did snow—I was out and though it looked like snow, it melted as soon as it hit the street pavement so I'm really not sure. Either way, it was a cold and rainy night for me spent wandering around in Gramercy trying to find good bubble tea and Indian food. While walking around with a broken umbrella, clunky galoshes and fingerless gloves, I enjoyed capturing nighttime images from Lexington Avenue—especially of the New York Life Insurance building over on 26th & Madison.

Thanks @johndeguzman on Twitter/TwitPic for ID'ing this building for me!

Top of the Empire State Building

Back in February I went to the top of the Empire State Building for the painstaikingly third time in my life. The first trip up was when I was in 8th grade, during a school field trip to Washington D.C. and NYC. The second time was with a group from my dorm at Marymount Manhattan college (where I stayed during a summer internship back in '06), and most recently on Valentine's Day with my boyfriend who was in town visiting me from Florida.

He got all of the good pictures because he has one of those professional cameras, whereas mine is pink and little and only 7.2 megapixels.
